Bike Damage

When we arrived at the park, one of the first things we noticed was that the coping on the kidney bowl was damaged beyond repair, and surrounded by tire tracks. This park isn't even completed yet, and bikes have managed to completely destroy the coping. When more bikers showed up, rather than run them off, we decided to give them a bit more rope to hang themselves with. Since the coping already will have to be replaced before the park can open, it really didn't matter how much more damage was done to it. But it did give us an opportunity to document the damage as it happened. Now, whenever anyone argues that bikes don't cause damage to skateparks, I have evidence as to just how much they can cause in a matter of weeks. (Photo by MSK)
