I decided the shape, and drew it out on the deck. I first had to find the center of the deck, then worked from that. I also use that center line to align the trucks.
I used two straight edges to align the trucks and mark the holes. I measured a 17 inch wheel base, measured from the inner holes.
I used a basic jig saw to cut the deck.
I rounded the edges with the sander. It's not perfect, but that's part of the charm.
Top view. The shape is pretty close to what I was shooting for.
I think the concave on these blanks are deeper than the eastbilt blanks.
On closer inspection, you might notice a small bit of wood putty. I'm experimenting. I wanted a little more concave on the front foot, so I built the heal and toe up with wood putty.
Closer view. On my first test ride, it felt like the board turned quicker.
